FAQ
What is Unitian English?
Unitian English is what is called an English reform. Most English reforms are just a reformation of the spelling, usually to sumdhing laik this. Unitian English, however, is a project to not only reform the spelling of English, but to revive archaic English words that would be quite useful to modern society, would make learning the language easier for some, and to alter the pronunciation of many words to reduce homonyms.
Where did the word "unitian" come from?
Unitian comes from the Latin words unitas, meaining "unity," and -anus, meaning "of" or "originating from."
Are you trying to promote Unitian English as a global language? That's what the name sounds like.
No, we are not. Unitian English is an English reform, and is mostly just for the English speaking world (for now). What language will be chosen as the International Language will be decided by the United Nations, or some similar future organization. (foreshadowing)
Can I learn Unitian English?
Yes, thou canst. Right now though, thou would'st basically be learning how to use the archaisms revived by Unitian English in modern speech. There is, though, one noticable difference between Unitian English and (bastardized) Early Modern English: the pronoun "Ic" is used before vowels and h, while the pronoun I is used before consonants other than h. This word comes from Middle English and Old English, however the usage in Unitian English does not.
How is "Unitian" pronounced?
Thou dost pronounce it Uni-ti-an (yoonee-tee-an).
